Our Reptiles

We have acquired quite a collection of reptiles...lizards and turtle.  Legs are a MUST in this house, so no snakes for us!  And now for some introductions...

Here are our male and female red ear slider turtles.  We have had these since they were tiny babies, about the size of a fifty cent piece!  Squirt is the male and Lily is our female.  It's fun to watch these two doing their various mating rituals.  They are about two years old now.
Our lizards and turtles are housed together in a large 125 gallon terrarium.  This is a picture of (from left to right) our male box turtle, Hank, our male Chinese water dragon, Shui Long, Lily, female red-eared slider and Squirt, our male red-eared slider.

Below is Shui Long (Chinese for "water dragon").  He is so calm and easy to handle.  He has grown some since this picture was taken.

Here are two of our lizards...Shui Long, our Chinese water dragon, and Kia, our female Bearded Dragon.  This is a few months ago....they have grown quite a bit.

Here is Waffle, our soft-shell turtle.  He is very shy and likes to bury himself in the gravel and sand at the bottom of our tank.  We have had him since he was a baby...he is wild-caught.  Not sure the sex of this one though.  ;)

Here is Hank, our male box turtle.  He is so fun....I rescued him from the middle of a busy street.  He has been a fun addition to our reptile family.  He LOVES bananas!

Here is Sake, our Chinese pond turtle.  She has the cutest little face that always looks like she is smiling. She is very shy and grows very slowly.  We have had her for almost a year now.  I'm not positive that she is a girl.  I haven't found out the best way to sex a Chinese pond turtle yet.  ;)

I want to post a picture daily of our animals.  They are funny and are great pets.  I hope you enjoy them too and possibly learn something in the process.  :)
